Prato (Italy) – From 4 to 8 April, the 3rd edition of TIPO Festival – The Industrial Tourism Festival dedicated to tell the story, culture, tradition and contemporaneity of Prato’s textile excellence. A full immersion to discover the industrial heritage of Europe’s largest textile district. Among factory shows, industrial trekking itineraries, company visits, book presentations, exhibitions, textile art workshops and conventions Many innovative, stimulating, fun events to discover and explore, to experience Prato’s industrial sites.
Five days of total immersion in the lively reality of Prato, with its unique history of textile recycling and the presence of historic companies where it is still possible to see and touch the path of green fashion: from the rags that arrive in Prato every year to regenerated fabrics, between traditional craftsmanship and innovation. The TIPO festival is also visits to factories that have been recovered and reconverted to different functions, photographic exhibitions, creative fashion workshops, and workshops for children, linked to contemporary art.
On this edition agenda also the national conference on the state of tourism dedicated to professionals in the sector, Saturday 5 April, with which Prato will act as a workshop to discuss new tourism practices: industrial tourism, the application of Artificial Intelligence in the tourism sector, and new digital technologies to enhance the territory. For an increasingly sustainable and attractive tourism, in a continuum between memory and future.
